About Ms. Basseri

This is my eighth year teaching and I am excited to be in my newest role at SHA as the 5th grade Judaic Studies teacher.

I earned my BA from the University of Washington in English Literature as well as a focus in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. I went on to earn my teaching degree from Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles as a DeLet fellow.

Before joining the SHA 5th grade team I taught kindergarten Judaic and general studies for five years at and served as the Teacher Learning Project coordinator for one year at SHA. Before coming to SHA, I taught kindergarten through 6th grade at Jewish day schools in the San Francisco Bay area.

I am thrilled to be part of the SHA family. I am a graduate of SHA as are my three older brothers and my dad. This year my son Ezra will start in the Hummingbirds as a third generation SHA student. What a privilege to part of such a strong and thriving community with a dedication to making Judaism meaningful in our lives.

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family. Together we love to explore nature, read, cook delicious food, and make music (I mostly sing along off key).
