I am currently reading a book called Keeping Score by Linda Sue Park.This book is about a girl named Margaret but everybody calls her Maggie or Maggie-o. Maggie listens to every single dodgers game at the firestation where her dad used to work.  But one day when she went to the firehouse to listen to a game there was a new person listening to the dodgers arch rivel the giants. George (person that works at the firehouse) tells maggie that his name is Jim and he's a giant fan. Maggie notices he's righting down the game and she asked him what are you doing. Jim said he's keeping score he's righting down what every player does at bat or on the field. Maggie wanted to know howso she asked Jim and he sent her home with a paper that will help her learn how, over the next few weeks he taught her everything there is to know about keeping score. It's the end of the season playoff time, giants and dodgers are tied for first place so they go to a 3 game series. Game 1 will go to the giants. The dodgers snag game 2. And game 3 in the polo grounds(giants stadium) dodgers up 4-2 in the 9inning two people on base Bobby Thompson up to bat, Bobby Thompson hits it far left field home run but if it was played in dodgers stadium it wouldnt have happened. Game 3 Giants. It was called "The Shot Aroud The World". One day Jim tells Maggie he's going to fight in korea for war. Maggie and Jim wright letters to each other until one day Jim dosn't right back for a few letters.

Why do think Jim isn't wrighting back to Maggie?

Wonder

The book that I am currently reading is called Wonder. The reason that I am reading this book is because three people recommended this book to me two people were in my class and one substitute. There is one more reason why because we read a book called Out of My Mind and I was thinking that it would be similar two Wonder. There were many amazing parts that have happened in the book so far. For example, Aggie goes to school if you are wondering why that is amazing this is why. Because Aggie is not a normal kid but he could walk and talk unlike Melody. Anyway it is weird because his eyes, nose, moth and ears are all kind of weird.

I have read about 18 books this year and I can't what until I finish my book challenge. I am so excited about finishing my book challenge because it feels like your kind of free from reading. I now this because I have finished my book challenge in 4th grade and I can't quite remember if I finished in 3rd but the point is that I finished book challenge in 4th grade before. And that is how I know what it feels like when you finish book challenge.

I'm reading 101 Animal  Secret  it has vary cool things like it says a blue whale's weighs as much as 25 elephants. If i would choose a different title it would be fact's about 101 animal's . Because thair are lots of fact's about animal's.

I had lots of questions about the book like do all whales weigh as much as 25 elephants. Another questions  is how big is a humming birds nest. I'm like a dog because when dogs dream they bark and when i dream i talk.

Divergent

I am reading Divergent By: Veronica Roth. The genre is dystopia. I would call this book Rebellion because the main theme of dauntless is rebellion and rebellion is a big part in divergent I think it should be called that because *SPOILER ALERT*  Beatrice rebells against her family by choosing a different faction.

I asked myself why they even have to choose a faction can't they just stay in their first faction? I also made a predictions that she would not stay with her family because she seemed like a independent girl and she was very worried and she might mess up and leave her family because before she said if it were up to her she would stay in her seat and just wait the whole time and not take the test.

All about Ben Franklin

I am reading who was Ben Franklin by Dennis Brindell Fradin illustrated by John O' Brien. This book so far, is all about Ben Franklin's life. What I know about Ben is that he was a man of many talents, he was a scientist, an inventor and he wrote a famous book all about his experiences.
Almost every day Ben would pay money for his meals from his family since they were poor and did not have enough money for food.

Book challenge progress.

The best book I have read this year so far is Hansel and Gretel. When i read it i got in to it and enjoyed it. i though that there were a lot of surprises and good details. It is also one of my favorite books because it has a lot of interesting pictures.This book is about a young brother and sister who get kicked out of there home by their evil step mother. they wander through the forest and find a house made of candy. They find out that a witch lives in the house but they defeat her and live happily ever after with their father.

Boys Without Names

      Boys Without Names By Kashmira Sheth is realistic fiction. If I were to give this book a different title it would be tortured. I would pick this name because the people were really getting tortured in many different ways.

     Why is Scar so mean? I wonder this because nobody is as mean as him. I think GC is a big jerk. I think this because he is so mean for a kid. 

Thats Great Advice

The book i'm reading is called Thats Great Advice by Matthew Pearlman and the genre is  informational. If I were to give this book another name it would be reporter. Because it's about a kid that wants to be a sports reporter when she grows up so it shows a bunch of interviews she does. So it shows sections and between the sections are interviews that are related to it.

I can connect to this book because it's all about great sports players that get hurt and interviewed and give advice to kids that work hard. So I could connect to this because I get hurt a lot in fact I am recently hurt and I love sports. I think the next section is going to be about sportsmanship and is going to show a bunch of players with the best sportsmanship.

Reading Blog Post

The Call of the Wild is what I'm currently reading by, Jack London, it's historical fiction. If I could give it a new title it would be called The Adventures of Buck. It's about a dog named Buck who seems to have a lot of adventures so far.

I had a connection with Buck because both of us want to be leaders. For example, Buck wants to be a leader of a sled team. I have a prediction that Buck will be the leader of the sled team. My other prediction that Buck will beat up Spitz once and for all.

Boys Against Girls

I am reading Boys Against Girls by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. I think it will be a tie. I think Willy is a nice kid but he has a bad side. I think the girls are tricky and mean but they get the job done


I think the girls are mean because they stole Peter and brought him to their house. I think it will be a tie because every time the girls do something bad the boys get them back or the other way around.Have you read this book? Do you agree with me?

Anne frank by Nancy Harrison

Anne frank is a girl that was a World War 2 she died when she was 15 years old. she kept a book to right in she called it kitty. the most impotent part is that when her family went into hiding she was hiding for 2 years.

She has a sister that was a few years older then her.her birthday is jun 11 1929 she was born in germany and moved a lot because of the war. anne had a lot of friends but she had to leave thim.

Amelia Earhart

I am reading Amelia Earhart (Biography) Amelia Earhart was the first woman pilot to fly around the world. Before the end of her trip her plane vanished .No one knows what happened to her, but to this day her plane has not been found there's  no trace of  her.We don't Know what happened to her. Did she crash in the ocean? Did she drown ? we don't know.I think she crashed into the ocean and went all the way down.That's what I think.but still why didn't find anything?

Jurassic Park

     My favorite book is the book that I am reading. It is called Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton. I like it because it is interesting. For example, one of the dinosaur ate a baby. Jurassic Park is about mankind  recreating dinosaurs and trying to control the dinosaur world on a small island. They find out that its harder to control large creatures that can eat you.

     When I read the part about the dinosaur eating the baby and the person seeing it made me feel kind of awkward knowing that the person knowing it did not tell anybody at all whatsoever. It was kind of awkward that nobody believed that little girl that it had three toes and it had a really long neck and had sharp teeth.

     I feel really good for Dr. Grant. He has found a dinosaur which is crazy. Its crazy because there were no dinosaurs. If I saw a dinosaur I would freak out because they're huge and they would kill me pretty fast. The people who saw the dinosaur were not scared at all .I wonder what happens next?

I'm reading Middle School Get Me Out Of Here by,James Patterson. There's a part in the book that bothered me. It's when Zeeke and Kenny put green paint in Rafe's locker. In the book Rafe said " G-d I'm gonna kill them." I didn't feel bad for them because Rafe and Matty threw water balloons at them before.

I felt sad for Rafe because he moved to Hills Village and everybody laughed at his self portrait. In addition, no one liked him. In the afternoon when it was lunchtime Rafe ate lunch alone in the bathroom. He met someone new and his name was Matty. Rafe and Matty were friends because they both hated Zeeke and his friend Kenny. I predict that Matty and Rafe are going to get Zeeke and Kenny back.

My Brother is a Big Fat Liar

I am reading My Brother is a Big Fat Liar by James Patterson. In the book Georgia Khatchadorian is the main character. She is going to the same school her brother [Rafe] got kicked out of and Rafe made 1,000,000 enemies so it's going to be hard for Georgia to make new friends. Georgia is a strait A student but all of the teachers think of her as a mini Rafe and trust me that is not a good thing.

In the book Georgia has a band but their not that good. They are performing at the school dance and they are horrible so it's going to be really funny. Georgia is getting bullied at school by three rich girls. She spilled fake barf on one of them and got in a lot of trouble until some mystery  man steps in the room. Read the book to fined out the rest!

Big Nate

      I'm reading Big Nate, by Lincoln Pierce. A really Meaningful part of the book was when the kids from Jefferson took the inner tube from the kids at PS. 3I because it showed how much they didn't like each other.  I predict that by the end of the book the students from PS. 38 are going to make peace and become friends with the kids at Jefferson. I wonder why the author chose to write about one school (PS. 38)  not liking another ( Jefferson). One reason why they don't like each other is when the Jefferson kids wore teasing or being mean to the kids at PS. 38.  Another meaningful part of the book was when PS. 38 got damaged and they went to school at Jefferson. Another meaningful part of the book was when PS. 38 got damaged and they went to school at Jefferson.

Thirteen Gifts

I am currently reading Thirteen gifts By Wendy Mass. A Really powerful part is when Tara is trying to convince her parents that they should take her with them on the vacation. It was obvious that she was going to do any thing to go on the trip with them and that she was very nervous to stay with her aunt. Tara says "I would have done any thing to go with them last I was with my Aunt, Emily (her daughter) ate a whole glue stick hopefully she was not as stupid now" This scene helps me understand how many kids get nervous or don't want to go away from their parents or don't want to stay with relatives.

As I was reading the part where Tara boards the train to go from her parents I felt bad for Tara. When I read the part Where the instructor asked if she was traveling on her own free will she looked at her mom and she nodded, I felt really bad for her because she knew she was only traveling because her parents were making her. I can't even imagine having my parents making me board a train away from them, And it made me feel bad for Tara.

How would you feel if your parents made you board a train away from them? 

Catching Fire

I am reading Catching fire by Suzanne Collins.  It is a sequel to the Hunger Games. It is a book about a boy and a girl who are picked from one of the 12 districts. Along with the other 22 girls and boys from the other 11 districts they are on their own to fight to the death. Katniss is the girl from district 12 who gets picked for the 74th annual hunger games. In this sequel she goes on tour and a month after that she finds out she has to compete in the Hunger Games again. It is the Quarter Quell and she has to compete against the other victors from the other districts. Read the book to find out what happens!

Reading Blog Post

      I read 8 books this year And I'm working on it when I can. I have read a lot of genres like realistic fiction, information, poetry and mystery. My favorite genre is realistic fiction. I like realistic fiction because it could happen. That makes it kind of real and it has stuff that can't happen but it makes sense. I have been surprised by my experience. I didn't know that I liked realistic fiction then I read a realistic fiction book and I loved it.

         The best book I have read is Jedi Academy. Jedi Academy is the best book I have read is Jedi Academy because it was realistic fiction. Another reason is I liked how it had star wars characters but it wasn't about star wars. But it made the book better it bet better. It was also I really funny book.

Reading Blog Post

I have progressed a lot in book challenge. I have read around 80 books. I have read Historical Fiction, Biography, Poetry, Fantasy and Realistic Fiction. I have been  surprised by starting to like Poetry a little bit more. I also liked Fantasy and my interest dropped a little bit. I still like Sports books.

The best book that i read for book challenge this year is probably True Legend by Mike Lupica. It is my favorite book because Drew "True" Robinson is a great athlete in basketball. If he is slamming the ball down or passing it off to his teammates or occasionally shooting a three pointer he can do it 
all. It has a average rating of 4.25. It is a 240 pages of fun reading about this star.
