My favorite and most interesting is the video on the Carteret Islands. Because I learned that they would never move to this other island in Papua New Guinea 1 there are bad people and I mean BAD people and 2 they were born there. The Coral is Dying so the water is going on to the Island or there is a volcano and the Island is sinking. I wish that the Carteret Island was saved so people don't have to worry about moving to that nasty Island or dying. The problem is that the Government only gives them food 2 times a year and they live on fish and coconuts. There might not be a Carteret Island. People will die. and no one wants to move to that nasty Island.

Taxation Without Representation

What was King George the 3 purpose of taxation without representation? Why does this matter?

What is taxation without representation? Taxation without representation is when taxes you without a Government. The Colonist didn't have Government then the British taxed the Colonist.

Why did King George the 3 tax the Colonist? Because he felt like it? He wanted to make the Colonist feel bad?

What's so bad about taxation without representation? If you don't have a Government most of the time you can't stop the Taxation without representation. The Colonist stopped the Tea Act, Sugar Act, Town shed Act (ETC).

A lot of stuff happened since my last post. I was a trader and went to the Patriots and the Loyalist got really mad at me. I had a great time since my last post I gained 70 Pows it was amazing.

I liked that I got to join the winning team since my last post. I didn't like that every Loyalist was getting mad at me. I was happy that the Patriots let me join their team and that I gained 70 Pows.

Math Night

I was preparing the sharp board game and three in a row for math night. I got to test the game for the sharp board and I got to color in the circles for three in a row. The class was preparing different stuff the blue group did paper airplanes and the red group did three in a row, the sharp board game and fruit salad equation.

Digital Passport

I learned a lot of stuff from Digital passport, for example, not to text when you cross the street, don't be mean to your friends on the internet even if it's a joke and other stuff. Also don't share anyone's personal information. If you go to Digital passport you'll learn what to do and what not to do on the internet.

  There was a lot of war in Pennsylvania Timothy Murphy thought they would win the whole time. In Pennsylvania 1777 Timothy Murphy killed the Redcoats general to win the battle by hiding in a tree. In the article” Timothy Murphy frontier rifleman” by dmna.ny.gov we learned that he killed the Redcoats general with his rifle because he wanted to win the Revolutionary war. Timothy Murphy led Americans to freedom. Because of him, I am here free today.

Independence

My role in the simulation is a Neutralist. You might be wondering what a neutralist is, a Neutralist is someone that is neutral For example, a Neutralist in the American Revolution is someone that can't decide what side they wan't to be on in this case Loyalist or Patriot. The class is doing really fun stuff like building Lego boats, diorama and other fantastic stuff.

 I enjoyed everything well except losing Pows. Pows stands for power units. Power units let a Patriot burn a Loyalist or a Neutralist's house or tar and feather them.  Loyalist can send people to jail and Neutralist can publicly criticize someone or refuse to pay your taxes. Something that's been hard for me was losing pows now I have 8 pows but I will gain more pows.

Science Expo

I enjoyed everything during the Science Expo. My responsibility was to show the parents and visitors pH levels in the Puget Sound region. I really enjoyed showing the visitors the pH level but I liked the ice cream better.

I did enjoy the Science Expo. Why because it was really cool and fun. My favorite part was the whole experience. There were lots of fun things to see and do.

Narrative Self-Reflection

I think I did most of the writing well. I think I showed a lot of dialogue. I had a lot of people talking.

A lot of things were hard for me. I enjoyed everything because I liked it. It was really fun.

Literary Essay Self-Reflection

I think I did really good in the Literary Essay. I think I showed really good friendship in the Literary Essay. I think this because I was writing about friendship.

Something that was hard was clear ideas. I enjoyed everything, because it was all fun.

Because of My Mom By. Shimon Gamel

Two years ago my Mom taught me how to ride my two wheeled bike. It was hard but I got the hang of it. It was so fun to learn how to ride my bike. Now on Sunday mornings I can ride my bike around Lake Washington. Once Victor Maimon was sledding at my house he slipped on some ice and got hurt but this is the real story. One snowy day at my house Victor and I were sledding it was fun until it started pouring with snow Victor was sledding and his sled slipped on ice. “Victor are you okay” my Mom said.“Whoa you flew like a bird and crashed like a plane.”“I hurt my leg.” Victor replied.This shows my Mom is caring. Mm… the smell of the pizza and cheese mixed together flowing into your nose. The first bite is amazing. I did not stop eating until my stomach was hurting. I said “Thanks Mom it’s delicious.” My mom replied “Your welcome Shimon.” This shows my Mom is a good cook. One day I was really bored so my Mom made me laugh “I’m bored.” I moaned
“Well I would like to tell you a joke.” My Mom replied. If I remembered the joke I’d tell you. This shows my mom is funny. My Mom is the best Mom ever. For example, all this stuff I’m telling you is good but the other stuff is amazing. My Mom is funny, fun, helpful and awesome.  The end, or is it Dunn Dunn Dunn…My Mom was so mad her face was as red as a tomato “I’m so mad I lost the race.” My Mom yelled with anger.“It’s okay there’s always next year.” I Said “Don’t be mad.” My Dad said, "This has happened to me before.” My Grandma replied “But I was so close.” My Mom said. My Mom was in a race and she got pushed and lost the race. This shows my Mom runs races. My Mom took me to a baseball game it was awesome “Yes” I said “We're winning thanks Mom for taking me to the baseball game.” “You’re welcome Shimon.” My Mom replied“All thanks to you today was awesome.” I said “Hey Mom do you want to get cracker jacks.” I asked “Sure.” My Mom replied. Because of my mom you know she is the best Mom ever. The End

Trimester 2 Reflection

 I liked this trimester it was amazing. The most work I'm proud from January until now is probably my Narrative and Literary Essay. I'm proud of this work because I did really well on it and I personally think Literary Essay and Narrative are amazing. Something that I'm happy about but not as happy was Chapter 9 in math. I think I could have done better in Chapter 9 in math.

I think I'm really good at Writing and Science. My evidence is that I wrote my Literary Essay and Narrative  really fast and I did amazing at the Science Expo. I want to improve in Math and Reading. The specific steps I will take to get better is reading more and working harder in math.

Anyone could use a friend. In Because of Winn-Dixie by. Kate Dicamillo Opal has no friends and she meets people who have no friends. People need friends because when you have friends you have more fun. From reading Because of Winn-Dixie I learned that anyone can be your friend.

Just because they are mean doesn’t mean they can’t be your friend. Dunlap was mean to Opal he called her mean names. Steve was mean to Opal he called her mean names but at the end Dunlap and Steve came to her party and became her friend. Amanda was mean to Opal she put Opal down but Opal understood how she felt about her brother.

You can meet people of all ages and be there friend because they are nice. Opal met Gloria she is so old she has bad eye sight and wrinkle skin. Opal met Otis he is in his 30 and he has been to jail but he is really nice. Mrs. Franny is really nice and she is 70.

You can meet people without trying. Opal met Sweetie Pie Thomas when she saw a bird on a dog’s head. Opal met Otis when she was trying to get a job. Opal met Winn-Dixie buying tomatoes for her dad.

Anyone should be your friend when you try. I use to have no friends like Opal but now I have a lot. That about wraps it up.

Lost And Found

I recently read Lost And Found By, Andrew Clements. The main characters are Jay and Ray and they are identical twins. The book is really funny because they realized that they could get away with not going to school. The first day of school Ray is sick and so for the rest of the year one of them stays home and the other one goes to school each day.

I think the moral of the story is that when you are going to do something dumb think first. For example, when they stayed home from school they didn't think about what would happen if they got caught. Another example, they got caught and they had no idea what to do. If you need realistic fiction then read this book for the book challenge.

Litmus Lozenge

In Because of Winn-Dixie Mrs. Franny compares a litmus lozenge to life because the sweet and sad are often mixed together. I think that statement is true. For example, Amanda thought the candy was sweet and then she was sad about her brother. Opal thought it was sweet and then she was sad about her mom. Otis said it was sweet, but then he said it reminded him of when he was in jail.

I can connect to what Mrs. Franny said to me. For example when I visit someone I'm happy but when I leave I'm sad. When my aunt comes to our house from New York I'm happy but when she goes back to New York I'm sad. To me life is full of bitter sweet moments.

Islandwood

Islandwood was amazing. I was happy we had a lot of fun. I enjoyed meeting new people. I was happy that we went on a night hike. I was happy that we got to go to the harbor.

My favorite part of Islandwood was the night hike. We were blind folded in the dark and we had to hold on to each other because we had no idea where we were going. We hiked to Mac's Pond. When we got to the pond we got to color on our arms with markers. Then we had to guess where we were.

Winn-Dixie

In the beginning of Because of Winn-Dixie the Preacher didn't pay attention to Opal. He paid more attention to his preaching and his paper work. He took a break from his preaching to pay attention to Opal when she asked him about keeping Winn-Dixie. Another example is during the beginning of the book Opal didn't have any friends and spent her time alone getting bullied.  It must have been hard for Opal since her father wasn't paying attention to her and she had no friends in their new town.

Throughout the book you can see many examples of the Preacher paying more attention to Opal. One example is that the preacher came to the party that Opal threw at Gloria's house. Another example, is that The Preacher helped Opal look for Winn-Dixie. I think it made Opal happy at the end when her father did all this stuff for her. It showed Opal that he cares about her. It makes me happy when my parents pay attenition to me.

I think I did most of the writing well. For example, I think the research I did was great. In addition, since I had fun I got the work done. Also, someone else was doing it and she showed me a good website to use.

On my next writng assingment I need to pay more attention to my work. It was hard to get my work because it was loud in the class room.
