Independence!

     In class we have been currently learning about the revolutionary war and the acts that led up to it. For example, there was a war in York Town, there was an act that led up to revolution and that was called the Boston Massacre another was the Boston tea party witch was another mini war that led up to the revolutionary war.

     A really cool thing that we are currently doing in our class is competing in different things in the American Revolution there are different "teams". One "team" is called the Patriots and the other "team" is called the loyalists. We compete in each congresses every week then we vote on each proposal "I" or "nay" WARNING: IF YOU ARE A PATRIOT DON'T READ THIS!!!!!!!! Depending if your a Patriot or a loyalist you would vote "I" or "Nay" and I'm a loyalist.

Math Night

In math night there were many different cool places to go to. For example, there were raffles games  and a lot of other really cool games. In one of the raffles I one ice cream and I only put in 5 tickets. Another really cool thing was our thing and that thing are fruit salad and math games on the sharp board that we have.

There was a group that we had called blue group and that group had paper airplanes that Josh, Emma, Gabe and Yainv made. Another thing that was at math night that was cool was a place were you can buy things that I think 2nd grade made.

American Revalution

For the past month we have been studying the American Revolution. What we have done in the past was watch movies about the revolutionary war and the Boston tea party and many more arguments and wars and fights. Another thing that we have been studying was the declaration and many more heroes and heroines in the revolution that had had big parts in it. Something that I have really enjoyed was that we have been compering really times of the revolution to right now. For example, my name is Benjamin Churchill he lived in Rural and was a successful merchant.

Something that I really enjoyed was that we have been learning about one of my 2 favorite characters in the revolution and one of them actually were fighting on the team that we had the revolutionary war with witch was the British. The person that was on the British was George Washington. My first favorite character it the revolutionary war was Thomas Jefferson who was the third president of the United States and he was also really important because he wrote the declaration of independence and the declaration of independence was made to lead America and write now the declaration of independence still is leading it.

Hero of the American Revolution

A war was going on V.S. the British. This was going on while Thomas Jefferson was writing the decoration of independence. Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States because he was really important and he wrote the declaration of independence in 1776. Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence because according to the book called “Who Was Thomas Jefferson” by Dennis Brindell Fradin and illustrated by John O’Brien is because he was the only one that could do the job also because the only other person to do it who was John Adams was old and not feeling so great. Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence and in the future generation this is leading America and it still is today.

     Friends can change each other’s life. Winn Dixie didn’t have a home, Opal took him home so he would have a home. Opal didn’t have a mom so instead she had Winn Dixie. Loosing Winn Dixie was extremely hard. Loosing Winn Dixie also changed Opals life but when Opal found Winn Dixie she felt better. Opal changed from how she was from the last time she had Winn Dixie. Winn Dixie changes Opals life.

     Friends can change each other’s life. Opal and Winn Dixie met at a store called Winn Dixie. Opal was getting food from the store and called the dog that she took Winn Dixie because that’s where they met. This is why friends can change each other’s life because instead of a mom Opal had Winn Dixie and that made her feel a little better. Opal changed Winn Dixie’s life because Winn Dixie didn’t have e a home and was just a dog that now one cared about. I think that Because of Winn Dixie by Kate Di Camilo is a good book. I think this because Winn Dixie made Opal have many friends and hear are a couple of them. Otis, Gloria Dump and Mrs. Frany. Winn Dixie made Opal be friends with Mrs. Frany because when Mrs. Frany saw Winn Dixie it reminded her of the story about the bear. So than they started to talk and Mrs. Frany told her a story about the bear and that is how they became friends. Winn Dixie made Gloria Dump and Opal friends because when Winn Dixie was running he ran into Gloria Dumps yard and Winn Dixie and Opal had a peanut butter sandwich.

     What Opal did with her new friends/Winn Dixie? What Opal did with Winn Dixie was make him have a home and what Winn Dixie did to Opal didn’t have a mom and instead she had Winn Dixie. Opal and Winn Dixie’s friends have had parties and Opal has set them up with her friends.

Loosing Winn Dixie. Opal had a broken heart when she lost Winn Dixie. She was looking everywhere but just couldn’t find him. In the end Winn Dixie was in Gloria Dumps house under her bed. I know this because Otis needed to play his guitar to make Winn Dixie get out. This changed Opals life because Winn Dixie was instead of her mom. What Opal realized was that she could of just lost the thing that had changed her life because she doesn’t have a mom.

Friends can help other’s in each other’s life. If you’re new to a school you need friend to help you in it.

Because of My Family

                                                                  

 

     My family have set an amazing example. They have very good sense of humor. For example, funny. I think this because they make a lot of people laugh (that includes me). I am also really funny I am really funny because my family is. The reason I am smart and handsome is because the men and boys in my family are. I really like baseball because 1. I am extremely good at baseball and 2. My grandma likes it and I use to watch Baseball games with her.

 “Who is up “demanded my grandma excitedly?

“Nick Franklin” I announced.

     I am really healthy because everyone in my family doesn’t let me eat too much junk. For example, ice cream, donuts, brownies chocolate chip cookies and soda. I acted fast and went for one of the last brownies.

“Jakey those are for the gust” said my ant.

“Please can I have one” I demanded.

“No”

“But they don’t even know that they are there”

“You could have after diner”

“How much do you want to bet that my mom won’t allow”

After dinner in the end I earned it and I earned it without anyone except my mom knowing.

     Hilarious things happen in my family. For example, I have watch really funny movies and so have my brothers. There is a movie called Robin Hood: Men In tights and there is a seen when        Blinken a blind guy said,

“I could see”

     And then he walks into a tree! That was even funnier when joey did that seen.

     My Family has extremely cool things. For example, my Papoo has gave me a bat that Seahawk players have signed and also on the bat there were Mariner autographs. He received this from his clothing stores that he used to own and players use to come and buy things from him and give autographs. Another valuable thing that I have received is a piece of gold and a sighed ball by Ichiro. That was something that I received from my grandma. The best thing that I am getting from my whole family is love.

     I have prepared for many exciting events. Such as Baseball games, Basketball games, when I sing things at my EB like a haphtarah or a mafteer and my graduation from each grade.

    Whenever I have a performance my family don’t just come and be there, they clap correct me whenever I do a mistake and they bring things to me to celebrate special parities for my birthday.

“You played grate” announced my mom.

“Thank you” I said proudly.

“I brought you some cupcakes for your birthday, do you want some Know”

“Know thank you”

After that I went home and the next day I brought the cupcakes for the class.

     There are good things that happen in my life and bad things that happen in my life and the way that I solve my problems is by talking to my parents to solve my problem and help me feel better about what happen. For example, my mom helped me solve a problem, and my dad has help me solve a problem and sometimes even my brothers.

     I have homework and depending what grade I am in is how hard it is and I am in 5^th grade so my homework is quite hard. There are some extremely hard questions and the way that achieve the right answer is by using strategies that my teachers have taught me and if I do that and I still don’t know the right answer usually my mom or dad would help me. I am incredibly glad that my mom and dad can help me do my homework. For example, the reason that I am glad is because every week we have something called homework celebration on Fridays, and the only way to receive that is by accomplishing your homework. The things that you can do at homework celebration is talk with a friend play on the computer or you can do things like that.

     My family is amazing. I think this because there are so many things that they have helped me with and hears a couple of them. For example, my Papoo and Grandma have a pool and every summer we go to their swimming pool and swim in it and my whole family is usually here. Sometimes I either forget to get my goggles or some food for after swimming and it’s really annoying when I forget a towel and usually the way that I get the towel is by just getting out then my mom, dad and grandma are the ones who get them for me.

“SPLLASH” the water went as it hit against the side of the pool.

“Cannonball” I yelled as I collapsed against the water.

“Lunch” announced my mom.

“gi,gig,igi,gi,gii,gigi,g” as I was shivering so much that I could hear my teeth hitting against each other.

“I need a towel” I demanded.

“Here” said my mom.

     Another reason why my family is amazing is because they are extremely talented and help me be talented like them. Once I started to get into making things I started to garden a little bit and I needed someone to help me so I had my Saba and uncial for two years I have been gardening all different kind of things for example, potatoes, tomatoes, carets, cucumbers, squash, zucchinis, lettuce  and many other things like that. My favorite thing to garden are tomatoes. Last year I was planting and my uncial brought a lot of knew plants and from a far distance I saw I could scan something in a bag as he was hiking to me. Once he was closer to me I said,

“What is in that bag?”

“This is for your birthday” as I ran to him to get a better look at my birthday present.

It was a whole bunch of tools to help me garden.

“Finely tools now I don’t need to get so dirty”

My family has made my life better. For example, they have taught me things that have made my life better.

“Get off your tablet Jakey” my mom demanded!!!!

“Can I just finish this game” I requested?

“You have to do your homework, 1 2…”  

  “Coming”

Moral Of The Story

     The book that I am currently reading is called Bud, Not Buddy By Christopher Paul Curtis. I think that the moral of the story was probably to not judge someone that is living b them self or not with his parents because he use to live with someone, but now he doesn't. The reason I think this is because the people that he use to live with don't believe him But he tells the truth.

     There could be many different moral off the story but this is the one that I think was the best morel of the story. I recommend this book to people that like historical fiction books and I usually don't but this was a really good book.

Because of Winn Dixie

     Some of the characters in the book changed over time. For example, the preacher. The preacher is one of the main characters dad that character is named Opal. The way that the preacher has changed over time is that he use to be very series and know he is not as series. For example, he has more fun spending time with opal and Winn Dixie.

     The reason I am saying less series then how he use to be is because he has more fun. For example, he goes to more parties that Opal and her friends setup. This is an example of one of the parties, Opal had a party that her friend Gloria Dump made it was a really cool party until Opal lost Winn Dixie but in the end the dog Winn Dixie was under the bed in Gloria Dumps house.

Wonder

The book that I am currently reading is called Wonder. The reason I am reading this book is because a couple of people recommended it and I read a book that was similar and it was called Out of My Mind and I really enjoyed it. This year so far I have read about 18 books and need about 12 more books until I have finished book challenge.

There are really not any main characters in this book because each character has pretty much there own chapters. But these are some of the characters August, Via and there parents. Via is in middle school and she has a friend that was different from the last time they saw each other. And now she dyed her hair bright pink.

Is Pollution in The Puget Sound Dangerous? What Are Pollution Levels?

   There is pollution in the Puget Sound. For example there is about 14 million pounds that annually gets in to the Puget Sound. What is this caused by? Pollution in the Puget Sound can be dangerous.

What is Pollution?

     Pollution is something that is made out of chemicals and things that are bad. For example, garbage and things that are poison. These things affect the Puget Sound.

 How Much Pollution?

    The pollution that gets in to the Puget Sound is a lot. More than 14 million pounds of garbage and chemicals have made their way in to the Puget Sound per year!!! By 2010 about 521,000 pounds of toxic waste that are including cancer causing chemicals developed toxins and reproductive. Toxins where dumped in to the Washington water ways. In 2008 549 streams and rivers carried water quality from storm water and toxins that were tributaries to the sound. 140,000 of toxic chemicals enter the Puget Sound on an average day.

Is Pollution Dangerous?

     If pollution is made out of garbage and chemicals and 14 million pounds annually gets into the Puget Sound it may be very dangerous. But how is it dangerous? It is dangerous because pollution in the Puget Sound could get on food that we eat, it could kill animals and it could make there be less wild life in the water. How could you help the Puget Sound? Pollution in the Puget Sound is caused by animals and people. (Because we are living our lives)

     The Puget Sound can be saved because all you need to do is stop doing things that can affect the Puget Sound. For example, littering. How can you help the Puget Sound?

My Trip to Islandwood

My class and I went to Islandwood it was maybe the best weak in my life. This is what I did in Islandwood, I went solo hiking, night hiking and I played a game called Park Ranger which is a really good game maybe on of the best games in my life. Another thing that we did was climb the Canopy Tower it was about 200 stairs. Sometimes you could see Mount Rainer but the day we climbed the Canopy Tower it was very foggy and when it's foggy you can't see it. We also went to Blackly Harber. What I did in Blackly Harber was eat lunch and we looked for crabs and we even held them. The crabs where different colors for example, red green and white.


This is how you play Park Ranger there is one ranger and a couple of people that are try not to get tagged by the ranger. You need to choose an animal and if the ranger calls something that your animal has you try to get to the other side. If you get tagged you become a tagger but you can't move from your place. If you get to the other side before other people do you what until everyone is on the same side as you then you can try to get to the side that you came from and do that until there is one person left then that will be the person who wins. This was my favorite experience because it was a game that you run in and I like running another reason is because it is a game where you always have something to do.

Wonder

The book that I am currently reading is called Wonder. The reason that I am reading this book is because three people recommended this book to me two people were in my class and one substitute. There is one more reason why because we read a book called Out of My Mind and I was thinking that it would be similar two Wonder. There were many amazing parts that have happened in the book so far. For example, Aggie goes to school if you are wondering why that is amazing this is why. Because Aggie is not a normal kid but he could walk and talk unlike Melody. Anyway it is weird because his eyes, nose, moth and ears are all kind of weird.

I have read about 18 books this year and I can't what until I finish my book challenge. I am so excited about finishing my book challenge because it feels like your kind of free from reading. I now this because I have finished my book challenge in 4th grade and I can't quite remember if I finished in 3rd but the point is that I finished book challenge in 4th grade before. And that is how I know what it feels like when you finish book challenge.

Big Nate Goes For Broke

    Big Nate is someone who doesn't only think about how to help himself but he is someone who thinks about how to help someone else that needs it. For example, once there was someone in the lunch room that was getting bulled and Nate stood up for him and broke his arm. Nate is very talented. For example, he rights comic. In book challenge I have finished almost 18 books and I need only 12 more books.

    I have read all of the Big Nate books and all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. My favorite series  that I have read this year was maybe Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I think Diary of a wimpy kid because there was a new Diary of a Wimpy Kid and that was my favorite book I have read so far because it was really funny. And the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid is called Diary of a Wimpy kid Hard Luck.

Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid

   Greg is in middle school and he has a friend who is running for some sort of president . Greg's friend is named Rolly . Greg is about 12. Greg is a very good person and he has many ideas. Greg also is good at copying an idea that is good and help him to be more  free in school (do what he wants ). I can understand how Greg feels because I also have some problems like Greg. For example, Greg cant find a girl he wants to dance with for some thing like a prom. And I can relate to that because, in P.E we do things that includes being partners with some one. And it is some times hard for me to get a partner.

 

   I think that Greg is feeling upset/happy because he usually gets what he wants but it takes so long its not even funny. And my brother is like Greg because, he usually gets what he wants by not behaving and yelling. but it takes a long time and maybe even a couple of days for him to get what he wants.

 

    Greg and Rolly are best friends until Rolly sees a girl that he likes. And now Rolly is not Gregs friend any more. this is annoying for Greg and I know why. I know because this situation has some times happened to me. For example, I had a friend who use to be my friend and 2 years ago there was a new kid and now they are not my friend. And some times that happens to Greg. 

Ecocolumns

     In science we have made ecocolumns and we have all different kinds of creatures. For example, we have snails, fish, crickets and things like that. Almost every day my partner and I watered our seeds. we started out with 2 snails and they are both still alive. We have never had a fish that is alive. When  we got our fish we fond out it was dead. When we got our cricket it was jumping around .And the next time we came to see our cricket it was not there.

Some of the creatures rely on each other. For example, the worms rely on the dirt because that is where they live. Not only do the creatures rely on each other but also the things that are not living can rely on each other. for example, the plants can rely  on the water so that it can grow ( people have to do the watering ) .

Out of My Mind

Melody was like hear fish because they both can’t talk, and walk .Melody is also like her fish because they can’t say what is going on in there brain. Ollie jumped out of a tank. And could not breath. And Melody could not get her mom to get up in time. So Melody put water on the fish but it died. Melody felt stupid when she could not tell her mom what really happened when she got there.

Is Melody Going To Learn How To Talk and Walk ?
