   Every Wednesday my class and I go to the libray to meet our book buddies in kindergarten. I think it was a great idea to have book buddies. First my buddy chooses where he wants to sit, then he reads to me. The buddy usually has 3 books, 1 poem and they also have a word list to read. If they don't know a word the 5th graders help them with sounding it out. I like book buddies I think its good to help younger kids and I also think it is important for the  kindergarteners.

   One of the reasons why I like book buddies is I get to talk to my buddies and meet new kids. I also like to help kids.  Its good for the younger kids to because they get to meet older kids and practice their reading. So I think its good for the 5th graders and the kindergarden class as well.

Best Trimester Ever

I have enjoyed science and math the most. I have enjoyed learning about ecosystems in science and I have learned in math power of 10, algebra and so on. I've got good at science, writing, math and reading. I've got good at these by listening to the teacher and following her instructions.

   Not a lot of things been very challenging.  I have enjoyed everything I learned and grateful that I can learn it. I want to improve on reading. I can do this by reading when ever I'm free instead of talking to my friends. I will try to finish everything I need to before I move. Ms. A has been a great teacher she has helped me a lot and is helping me finish everything I need to before I move.

SCIENCE BLOG POST

     Me and My group did a lot of stuff. One thing we did was put fertilizer in the experimental Eco column. The experimental Eco column was Nina's and Shoshanna's they put 7 droppers of fertilizer. Then we did the control eco column. We put 7 droppers of water in it. The control eco column was me and Shimon's. I worked with Shimon, Nina and Shoshanna. We did pretty well. But I dropped my control terrarium once, Shoshanna dropped it twice and Nina dropped it once. Shimon is lucky he never dropped it.
 
      I thought that the higher the PH scored the worse, then I realized that's not true. If the PH scored 3.5 then all fish die. Also if its anywhere between 4 to 7 its actually good for animals. I thought that was bad. But I realized I was wrong. I also learned when one animal dies it effects the whole ecosystem and when plants die they cant give oxygen and animals die cause they need oxygen.

      I'm reading Big Nate, by Lincoln Pierce. A really Meaningful part of the book was when the kids from Jefferson took the inner tube from the kids at PS. 3I because it showed how much they didn't like each other.  I predict that by the end of the book the students from PS. 38 are going to make peace and become friends with the kids at Jefferson. I wonder why the author chose to write about one school (PS. 38)  not liking another ( Jefferson). One reason why they don't like each other is when the Jefferson kids wore teasing or being mean to the kids at PS. 38.  Another meaningful part of the book was when PS. 38 got damaged and they went to school at Jefferson. Reading Blog Post

      I read 8 books this year And I'm working on it when I can. I have read a lot of genres like realistic fiction, information, poetry and mystery. My favorite genre is realistic fiction. I like realistic fiction because it could happen. That makes it kind of real and it has stuff that can't happen but it makes sense. I have been surprised by my experience. I didn't know that I liked realistic fiction then I read a realistic fiction book and I loved it.

         The best book I have read is Jedi Academy. Jedi Academy is the best book I have read is Jedi Academy because it was realistic fiction. Another reason is I liked how it had star wars characters but it wasn't about star wars. But it made the book better it bet better. It was also I really funny book.

Roan From (Star Wars) Jedi Academy

       Roan always wanted to go to pilot school. His dad and brother went to pilot academy. He thought he was going to get in but he got rejected. He was so mad all his friends got into pilot academy He said he didn't get the letter. But he did. He didn't know where to go all he could think of is going to plant school.

         Roan got a letter from Jedi Academy it said he got in. He told his friends he didn't get in pilot academy. They wore very disappointed . He told them he's going to Jedi academy. They started laughing at first Roan wasn't sure why. But then Roan friends told him baby's go there. so Roans friends laughed more.

        Roan didn't really have friends at Jedi Academy. He didn't really fit in with the kids at Jedi Academy. They wore all really good at the force etc. After time he made a few friends one of there names is pasha. Pasha seemed really nice if I went to Jedi academy he would probably be friend.

I'm not like Roan that much but I do like light sabers. If you like star wars you should read Jedi Academy. But its not very much like star wars. I really liked the book. I would give it a 5 star review. you should read it.

SCIENCE

The components are plants, animals, water, dirt and gravel. The grass is changing. It’s dying, and on some grass there is white on the bottom of the grass leaf. Elodea looks like mini lily pads. Some of the elodea is turning white. They started green but more and more are changing. Our fish is going to die soon because it doesn’t have enough oxygen to live. Our cricket flew away. We got two snails. One was really big and one was really small. They died after a week or two, but when we got our fish we also got a new snail, and it is still alive. (We got our new snail a week ago.)

        Biotic components rely on each other. If there are too many snails that take oxygen there will not be enough for the fish. If there are plants, though, they will give oxygen. Biotic and abiotic components rely on each other. If there is no water (abiotic) then all the living things in the such as fish and snails.

Powers of 10

MATH POWERS OF 10

In math we are learning about powers of 10 it was really hard at first but then ms. A helped us. First we were using multiplication so you would bring the decimal to the RIGHT as much times as the zero like this.

                          Then we did division you would bring              decimal to the LEFT as much times as the zeros.

Ollie the Fish

   I think Melody talked about Ollie in the book. Because it probably reminded her about her self. This is how I think this reminded her about Ollie. Ollie died when Melody was 7.

    Ollie feel out of the bowl and Melody poured the bowl out so melody would get water but it didn't work so Ollie died.

    I think Ollie is like Melody because he wants to talk but he can’t like Melody they both can’t talk but they both try.

      Melody was probably sad because in the book she was crying. She couldn't tell her mother what she was feeling. Melody hit the fish bowl over but she couldn't tell her mom why.
