Every other Wednesday, fifth grade read Hebrew books with Kindergarten.

How to choose books:

1. You will need to choose 2 books.

2. Choose from three bins

           ירוק: Books with a few words on each page

            כתום : Books with a medium amount of words on each page

            ורוד : Books with a lot of words on each page

How to prepare your books:

1.     Practice reading your books so that you can read them fluently (at a comfortable pace and with few mistakes).

2.     Know what your book means. You don’t need to know what every word means, but you do need to have a general understanding of what is happening in your book.

Reading with your buddy:

1.   Do a picture walk before reading your book together. Ask your buddy what s/he sees in the picture. Help them see the main characters and the main points of what is happening.

2.   Read your book to your buddy. Stop throughout the book to help them understand what is happening
