What 5th Graders are Doing in Math

The 5th graders are working on decimals. For example, we learned that when we are multiplying decimals your answer gets bigger, and when you are dividing decimals your answer gets smaller. Every zero in the number you have to move the decimals over how ever many numbers there are zeros. For example, when you are multiplying 4.04 x 100 since there are two zeros in 100 you move the decimals over to the right two times, so your answer will be 404. , and when you are dividing your answer will get smaller. For example, 88 divided by 1,000 since you are dividing and there are three zeros you move the decimal over to the left  three times your answer will be .088.  And that is how you multiply and divide decimals.

***Now do you know how to multiply and divide decimals? If so what is 908 divided by 100.***
