5th Grade Trip to the Seattle Aquarium

We the fifth Graders went to the Seattle Aquarium. At the aquarium we first got to see the big tank with a lot of fish in the tank. Next we got to go to the place in the aquarium where you get to touch some sea creatures. There you can touch sea anemones sea cucumbers and some really awesome starfish.

After we went to the touching areas this person took us to this classroom where there were some more sea creatures. One of the sea creatures was a sea cucumber. If you seen a sea cucumber you can see spikes on them, but the spikes are just for protection and to scare away enemies. The sea cucumber’s spikes are not pointy. They are soft and squishy and they are different colors.

We also saw an animal called a moon snail. You might think this is crazy but Moon snails have the power to drill through clams with their radula. They are able to make a perfect holes inside a clam. Their body is really squishy and big and their shell is really small and hard.

Latter we went to see a seal that was trained. There was a trainer that was going to feed the seal. The seal was able to clime rocks to get the food from the trainer. The seal was able to do some awesome things. For example, it was able to lift up his flipper (both flippers) and was even able to climb down the rocks to get back in the water.

The trip was awesome and everyone can’t wait to go back soon.
