Because of Winn-Dixie Mrs. Franny compares a litmus lozenge to life because the sweet and sad are often mixed together. I think that statement is true. For example, Amanda thought the candy was sweet and then she was sad about her brother. Opal thought it was sweet and then she was sad about her mom. Otis said it was sweet, but then he said it reminded him of when he was in jail.
I can connect to what Mrs. Franny said to me. For example when I visit someone I'm happy but when I leave I'm sad. When my aunt comes to our house from New York I'm happy but when she goes back to New York I'm sad. To me life is full of bitter sweet moments.
Do You Agree With Me?
Hi Shimon,
ReplyDeleteYou are right! Life is full of happy moments that can also be sad! I feel the same way each time I leave my parents house. I'm happy I got to spend time with them, and happy they are healthy, but sad to say goodbye!
Thanks for your insightful post!
-Mrs. A.
