I have read 16 books in our 30 book challenge. I'm currently reading a book called Dead End In Norvelt by Jack Gantos. It's about a boy named Jack who lied to his mother by saying he was allowed to play with his dads war stuff when he really wasn't and shot himself with the gun. His mom grounded him for the summer which meant he couldn't leave the house in less he had permission or he could go help his old neighbor. One day he and his dad decided to build a bomb shelter so they cut down the corn crops and got in even more trouble by the mom.
I think the lesson of this is listen to your parents because there might be consequences.
Have you ever been grounded?
