My uncle is a very
nice person. He loved everyone. He also could not stand my mom’s guacamole. He
always thought it was missing an ingredient. I always looked up to him.
Literally he was really tall. He had brown hair. Then he got old so he got grey
hair. You may think that I mention something more than once let that be sign
that it was important. This is a story about him.
It was one night at my
house with all the chairs tucked in ready at the table with the food on everyone’s
plate when my Uncle saw my mom making guacamole. He just couldn’t resist. He
grabbed the salad dressing and poured it in the bowl and mixed it around. By
the time my mom got back everyone had a grin on their face and was chuckling.
My mom turned around and saw my uncle roar with laughter. She looked in the
bowl with guacamole and saw the salad dressing and she started giggling to.
My uncle said, “What’s done is
done!” and that was the end.
A few weeks later my
uncle came in for dinner one night and brought salvo (my brother) a magnet with
his name on it. At that time I was looking around the house thinking wow those
chairs have nice patterns and those lights are very bright. A minute later I
was crying my head off. (I was 3)
I was screeching, “IT’S NOT FAIR!!!!!!” Every second.
MY dad walked over and said, “Its okay I will get you one.”
“NO!” We all stared at our uncle. “It is not okay to be jealous.”
I stopped crying I stopped crying and just stared. “Okay?” He said.
“OKAY!” I said with a jolly voice. After that we put the magnet on
the fridge and I smiled so wide as if I got a toy I wanted my whole life.
My uncle also makes
people laugh when they are sad. My brother came home from school with a glum
face. My uncle asked him what was wrong
My brother said,” I don’t want to talk about.” So my uncle started
telling jokes, and my brother started laughing. Once again my uncle has made
someone smile.
My uncle would go to
his neighbers house every morning. He would talk to them, tell them jokes and
make them smile. Cause that’s what he loved to do. They tell him that they were
the best jokes. Because they were.
My neighbors noticed
that he wasn’t going to their house in the morning. He had fallen asleep and
never woke up. My uncle Salvo had died. When we found out we were devastated we
didn’t know what happened all we felt was sadness and despair. We try not to
think about it anymore but it’s hard not to. I was only 4 years old. He taught
me to feel confident and happy and never sad I’m still working on it but it
will kick in at one point. He is the one that taught me to believe In myself
and that’s how it will stay for the rest of my life.

Dear Avi,
ReplyDeleteI think you will like him. He was the best uncle ever. He was actually my great uncle because he was my dads dads brother. Cool right!
