Out of My
Mind by Sharon
Draper
Ollie had a
very sad life just swimming in circles all day. I think Ollie swam out of his
bowl because. He thought that he could live outside of his bowl and wanted to
see what it was like outside. I think what Melody did to try to save Ollie was
a good idea but it wasn't enough to save him.
I think
Melody’s life is like Ollie’s because Ollie is stuck in a bowl and Melody is
stuck in a wheelchair and they both can’t get out.
I think that
Melody is feeling very bad because she said that she wished that her mother could understand
what she was really trying to say. Do you
think Melody is ever going to learn how to talk? How?
Avi I think melody will eventually be able to talk. i think she is going to try so hard that words are going to come out and Melody will be happy

Hi Avi,
ReplyDeleteI hope that Melody will eventually be able to communicate. I'm not sure how it will happen, but I think I have a pretty good prediction! :)

Hi Avi,
ReplyDeleteI thought your comment that the fish tank was similar to her wheelchair because it trapped her like the tank trapped the fish. Literature is amazing because it helps us think about things in new ways!

Thanks for your great ideas.

Hello, Avi. You have very interesting thoughts. When you said that Ollie was stuck in the bowl and that Melody was stuck in her wheelchair, that made me me think a lot. That was a real good comparison!

Hi, I am Ethan, your partner along with Manny, and this sounds like a pretty accurate description of the book, and so, its's like both Melody and Ollie did they ever get out of their "prisons?"
